The Brazilian Central Bank launched BC Protege+ on December 1, 2025, a new free service aimed at preventing fraud within the National Financial System. The tool allows individuals and legal entities to formally inform financial institutions that they do not authorize the opening of accounts in their names, nor their inclusion as account holders or representatives in third-party accounts, functioning as an additional layer of protection against identity misuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With \u201cBC Protege+\u201d activated, all financial institutions authorized by the Central Bank are required to consult the system before opening new checking, savings, or prepaid payment accounts, as well as before including a person as an account holder or representative. If the protection is active, the opening or inclusion is automatically blocked until the user chooses to deactivate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enrollment in the service is carried out through the \u201cMeu BC\u201d platform, accessible with a Gov.br account at the silver or gold level and with two-factor authentication enabled. The protection can be activated or deactivated at any time, giving users control over when they authorize the opening of accounts in their name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its first days of operation, \u201cBC Protege+\u201d has already demonstrated practical effectiveness: thousands of people activated the protection, and the system blocked numerous attempts to open fraudulent accounts, highlighting its importance as a security and trust-enhancing tool in the digital financial environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
