Brazil’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) has launched a public consultation to gather contributions from society on the Brazilian User Guide on Artificial Intelligence, a document designed to provide accessible guidance on the conscious and safe use of AI systems in everyday life. The initiative makes the full version of the guide available alongside a chapter-by-chapter contribution form, allowing participants to assess the clarity, adequacy, and potential gaps in its content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guide takes a practical and didactic approach, covering everything from basic concepts on how artificial intelligence works to its uses, limitations, and risks, including topics such as algorithmic bias and discrimination, disinformation, security, privacy, and social impacts. It also highlights guidance on user rights – such as transparency, explainability, and the right to contest automated decisions – as well as responsibilities when interacting with these technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public consultation is part of the actions under the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA) and seeks to incorporate contributions from multiple stakeholders to improve the document, potentially influencing the consolidation of national guidelines on responsible AI use and the development of future regulatory initiatives in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
