The Artificial Intelligence Bill (PL 2338/2023), which aims to establish Brazil’s Legal Framework for Artificial Intelligence, is still under legislative review.
Following its approval by the Senate in December 2024, the President of the House of Representatives ordered, on April 4, 2025, the creation of a Special Committee to review the proposal. This Committee will be composed of 33 members, who are yet to be appointed by political parties.
The bill is expected to undergo further discussions and possible amendments before being submitted to a vote in the House. The development of this proposal is particularly relevant for companies that develop, use, or contract AI-based solutions, as it may introduce important guidelines regarding rights, responsibilities, and limitations in the use of these technologies.
